"Resource Regulator to undertake “state-wide high visibility compliance operation” and “will involve around 85 safety and compliance inspectors performing unannounced inspections at more than 100 mining and quarrying operations.”

RWC has been advised that the Resources Regulator will be undertaking a “state-wide high visibility compliance operation” this week across all sectors of the mining and quarrying industry.

The operation “will involve around 85 safety and compliance inspectors performing unannounced inspections at more than 100 mining and quarrying operations.”  The Resources Regulator will be looking at safety management systems, key risk controls and rehabilitation compliance.

A number of our mining and quarrying Clients have already been subject to announced site visits this week.

The Resources Regulator’s actions are a timely reminder of the importance of managing regulatory and conditional requirements for our sites.  At RWC, we prepare clear, practical and unambiguous documentation so that you and your people know exactly what needs to be done to ensure compliance.  We also undertake internal and external audits and manage environmental monitoring data and reporting for Clients for added peace of mind.

Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss any matter related to environmental management or compliance of your site.
